Dr. Brittney Chisholm

Dr. Brittney Chisholm is excited to be back in her hometown of Powell River after over a decade of pursuing her vocational aspirations. Brittney attended the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, BC graduating in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science: Life Science and Chemistry. During her degree she participated in an exchange program to the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia to study in a hands-on medical anatomy program. This experience instilled a passion for outdoor sports (surfing, rockclimbing, and diving) and furthered her interest in the human body and dysfunctional movement patterns.

In 2013 Brittney graduated magna cum laude with Clinical Honors from Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto, ON. During her 12-month internship she worked with under priviledged individuals and seniors at the South Riverdale Community Centre and had the opportunity to serve as medical volunteer for the 2008 Ontario Summer Games and for the FIFA World Cup Canada vs. Panama game. Upon graduation she practiced at a family chiropractic clinic in North York and a multidisciplinary sports centre in downtown Toronto. The birth of her son, Jenson, brought her back to Powell River, the best place on earth to raise a family.

Dr. Chisholm practices evidence-informed conservative chiropractic care – that means research and clinical experience guide her treatment plans which are customized for the individual following a thorough history and physical exam. She uses a variety of techniques in her treatment plans: manual muscle release, trigger point therapy, spinal manipulation (Diversified technique, Thompson drop-piece technique, and the light-touch Activator technique) exercise & rehabilitation, graded mobilizations, fascial manipulation and stripping, biomechanical corrections, postural and nutritional advice, and education.

Brittney treats an array of musculoskeletal and nerve-related conditions but has a particular interest in treating overuse and athletic injuries related to the extremities (knees, ankles, elbows, etc.). She also has a desire to help other moms & babies with pre- and post-natal care, and infantile and paediatric care. Whether you are 7-weeks old or 99 years old, Dr. Brittney would love to help you achieve your health goals and get you back to optimal functioning!
